Where to buy ingredients

Conditioner bars rely on a plant-derived conditioning emulsifier (BTMS-50) that gives real detangling and softness. It is the one semi-technical ingredient here; it is widely sold by Australian soap-supply shops. Hibiscus powder adds a rose tint and shine.

Method

  1. 1

Melt BTMS, coconut oil and shea together over a double boiler.

  2. 2

Off the heat, stir in argan, hibiscus and vitamin E.

  3. 3

Pour into moulds; set in the fridge 1 hour, then unmould and cure 24 hours.

How to use

  • Glide the bar down wet lengths 3–4 times, work through with fingers, leave 1 minute, rinse.
  • Store dry.
