Plain white vinegar in the rinse-aid compartment is the oldest trick in the book and it works. The caveat is the seals: acetic acid can degrade rubber over years of use, so many people use it short-term or alternate with citric acid.
Method
- 1
Pour straight into the rinse-aid compartment.
How to use
- Alternative with less seal contact: fill a small bowl with vinegar and place it upright in the top rack — it mixes into the rinse without sitting in the dispenser.
Safety
- Never mix with chlorine bleach products.
